FixStudio for Mac

There's no sound from a source in Studio

New sources in Stream24 Studio start muted. Unmute them in the Audio panel, add a microphone as External Audio, and check the microphone permission.

How to fix it

  1. Step 1: Unmute the source

New sources start muted, so nothing plays until you turn them up. Open the Audio panel and unmute the source, or press M to mute and unmute the source that's on Program.

  2. Step 2: Add your microphone as External Audio

In the Audio panel, click Add External Audio and pick your microphone or audio interface. Under On this source, tick the External Audio that should play whenever that source is on Program.

  3. Step 3: Check the microphone permission

If the Audio panel says Permission needed — Microphone, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and turn on Stream24 Studio.

  4. Step 4: Watch the meters

The meters in the Audio panel show the same mix that records and goes live. If a meter moves, the sound is in the show.

Good to know

  • If Program Output is set to a device that is also a Studio input, you will hear a feedback loop.
Messages you might see
  • Permission needed — Microphone. Open System Settings.
  • Nothing is feeding the mix
  • External Audio unavailable
